Mountain Wind in Your Hair

                                                        Impossibilities. Imagination. Imperial delight.

Creativity. Chilly mornings. Colorado time.

Soul inspiring. Spirit rising. Sunsets rising up.

This is the mountain. Hear its song.

I am back from my last trip of the summer! And, oh, I do not think that I have the words to describe it. The mountains. The fresh air. The freedom of my soul rolling to and fro these majestic mounds of glory crafted by big hands of love.

Take that back, I have many words to describe it. It just doesn't seem enough.

And so I will let the pictures do (most of) the talking, and let your imagination fill in the rest. Let your spirit feel the cool breeze of the mountain air. Feel it play with your hair. Smell the pine trees and watch the aspen leaves glitter as you pass them by. Smile to yourself. Mostly, give glory to the One who stands taller than any mountain, Whose shadow creates a haven of grace and a fearsome awe.

Drive up the 14,110 Colorado mountain with me and taste His grace. For the mountain has fallen upon us, crushed us under its weight. Yet it gives life, and not death. Freedom and not slavery to sin.

This is great reason to dance, smile, create, sing. This is reason to live.

Do you feel that?

It is a song of joy. The earth praising its Creator because it knows nothing else.

Shall we not join in its song? Shall we not praise the Creator and Savior not because we have to but because we know nothing else better? We are created to worship, and only when we stop worshiping our pebbles of pride will we be able to look up and see the mountain ahead and understand.

Only then will we see.

So look up.

His glory is all around you, even at a laptop in a dim bedroom with clothes hanging over a chair. His glory is there, just as in the mountains. For He is in you. He is working in the hearts of people all around you. He is. And isn't that enough?

Oh His beauty and righteousness is abundantly more than enough.

Breathe in. Breathe out. And feel the mountain wind in your hair.

Have you been to the mountains? Comment below your experience. Also, what ways have you seen God work in His glory and grace? How does this make you see the world just a bit differently?

Much love,

Princess Hannah

  2. SO pretty! GAH I need to visit Colorado.

I often forget that God is in EVERYTHING. It's always good to go to a place like this and be filled with awe all over again!

    1. Thank you so much Megan!

Yes, He is everywhere, but we all forget that so readily. May we have eyes to see Him more.

  3. Wow, this was amazing. I feel like this was written for me, especially when I read the part about God's glory shining even around a laptop in a dim room with clothes strewn about the chair.....because that's exactly the setting of the room I was reading this post in. WOW!

I love the photos; the scenery and you and your wonderful words are all so beautiful! Thank you for sharing this with me. It WAS a breath of fresh air. And I love how tenderly you refer to God..."Big hands of love." Just wonderful :)

    1. Erin, you made this post so beautiful with your comment. Well, God made it beautiful by showing Himself to me and you through the mountains. Praise Jesus!!!

And that's always the setup of my room. Although I hung up a kazillion shirts from my chair today.

I got the phrase "big hands of love" from the Crowder song "Hands of Love." It's one of my favorites!

"His glory is all around you, even at a laptop in a dim bedroom with clothes hanging over a chair." That's TOTALLY not me at this exact moment or anything.....

Also, you're such a gorgeous dancer, oh my goodness. <3

Yes, that setup is totally not me right now either. Add in a thunderstorm outside. (Which would be comforting if I didn't have to get out in in in a few minutes.)

Thank you! It's been a rough summer in regards to ballet, but I'm excited for the school year!

  8. I LOVE THIS POST. It is so, so lovely. The photos and subject are mind-blowing. God's creation is overwhelming in it's perfectness. My family drove up into the Colorado Mountains...isn't it the most amazing experience? We had a traffic jam - of bighorn sheep on the main road! A big difference from our home in the valleys. =)

Yes, yes, yes to Psalm 95. I spent quite a bit of time there and other passages that talked about mountains last week!

  13. First off, you are so incredibly gorgeous?!?!

I've been to Colorado once and I was absolutely blown away by the mountains. I find my heart is desperately torn between the mountains and the sea, which is probably why I love the Pacific Northwest so much. Because it provides both.

Man, I can't even give an accurate list of the way God keeps working in my life. It always seem like the second I learn something new about my relationship with my horses, I realize how accurately it applies to my relationship with Jesus.

    Love this post.

    1. first of all, THANK YOU!!!

Second of all, that is a struggle of my soul. I think I need a house on the beach, in the mountains, in NYC, and in London to satisfy my wanderlust.

DON'T YOU LOVE HOW GOD USES THE THINGS AND PASSIONS IN OUR LIVES TO TEACH US ABOUT HIM!!!!!! It awes me, really, how He uses this world to teach us about another, and it encourages me so much to hear you notice these things as well!
